Beyond the artistic taste of passion for the film industry - is truly an ordinary guy who, on his spare time, loves collecting Department 56 porcelain buildings and working on new ideals for the next Christmas Village setup. To me, that's a pretty cool side of me.
Moreover, I grew up understanding at a young age to always do things with a spirit of excellency. I credit that to my Dad, Mom, and Grandma. Now as a man, I still continue to do everything that I put my hands too, with that exact spirit, that spirit of excellence.
I’ve had two great advantages growing up. One is, having good parents and the second is, having no money. Having no money meant I had to fight my own way to get myself where I wanted to be. Having good parents meant, having good parents.
I've always known as a boy that acting, filmmaking, and even music was burnt into me. I can't explain it, but ask my family and they will confirm. It's like that saying, "you know that you just know, that you just know." I am Samoan and sports is a big thing in my culture but yeah, I didn't care for sports when I was a kid and my family was okay with that. They actually let me be 'me,' so that was always a nice thing. I recall singing in my room and acting out the actions to the lyrics of the songs that I was singing. Pretty embarrassing when I think about that but it does put a smile on my face when I think of how free I felt as that little boy. However, growing up and navigating showbusiness alone was difficult. My family had no ideal how film worked and neither did I. Fortunately I've learned so much along the way and I am still learning, still developing.
Today, I continue to strive to rise to be a leading Polynesian Actor / Artist - a force to be reckoned with – gentle as a dove and shrewd as a snake. With every role I am in, with every project I produce, with every script I write, with every poetry piece I pen, I give it my all.
My philosophy of success is, if you can make your bed in the morning, then you’re a successful person. Getting something done is success, no matter how big or how insignificant someone says it is.
